Boy, Where do we start? The weekend was fantastic from our side. The weather cleared just about an hour before the festivities were to begin. I don’t remember any worse weather in the days leading up to a homecoming or any better for Saturday and Sunday. Somebody really does look out for us. The attendence was amazing. We registered pretty much the same as last time, maybe a few more. It would be interesting to know how many were on the street Saturday. We thought the Bop a Dips were excellent and the crowed seemed to really enjoy them. We can’t thank everyone enough for coming. We are always hoping for more people to register, that is how we keep everything going, but we realize that it will stay about the same. It is always good to see so many different people around and very little trouble. When we all come together with the common link of BSHS I guess it keeps things calm. So, on to 2015. We think we chose an excellent committee, the numbers of couples to chose from might be getting smaller, but the quality is getting better. There are already ideas being tossed around and we are sure that next time will be a Homecoming to remember. As for this web site, we are planning to keep track of it for as long as it takes for the new committee to get their feet on the ground and find someone to do the behind the scenes work. We are going to put together a collection of pictures from the weekend and post them in the gallery. If anyone would like to join in, email your pictures to committe @bigsandyhomecoming.com and we will try to get them on. We also plan to post a list of addresses for those who agreed. I guess that is about enough for now, keep checking in from time to time for additions. Can’t wait to see everyone again in 2015.
Time is about up to take advantage of the early registration discount. On the 1st of June the price goes up $5.00 per person. So save a few bucks and register now. We are continuing to get lots of rain so things should be very green by the 18th , we might all get carried away by mosquitoes, but it will be nice and green. See everyone in just a few weeks.
Things are coming down to the wire. You can check to see those that have registered, we finally have it up to date. The committee has been getting busier, very few days go by that we aren’t working on something to do with homecoming. We held the local preregistration a few days ago and had a pretty good turnout. Gained about 100 more people signed up. A reminder that the early price break ends on June 1st, so be sure to get signed up before then. We are hoping to get to at least 100 more. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great weekend.
We now have a list of the first people to register for Homecoming 2010. You can find this under the banner Attending. This list is a week or so old, so if you don’t find your name and you registered recently, don’t worry, we have your registration and will update the page in a week or so. We are trying to put together the best way to share the contact info of those who agreed, and yet protect it from the open internet.
We have over 200 preregistered so far, which is a good start but we are hoping for close to 700.
There are also some new old pictures in the gallery.
Things have been getting busier here at home. We think we are getting things kind of organized but I’m sure there will be plenty of last minute surprises. We would like to encourage everyone to preregister. You can register online and wait to pay when you get home. Registering ahead of time will give us the ability to have your packets all ready when you get here and speed up the whole process. We would also like to encourage everyone to be getting their float plans in the works. The more floats, the better the parade. We think this years theme leaves the ideas wide open for floats. Anything about home, what home means to you, what you remember best about home, what coming home means, or whatever you think about when you think about homecoming. We are getting a fair amount of registrations and will be putting the list on the web site very soon. And as always we are eager to here your thoughts and suggestions.
